With conditions improving across the country after more than a year of pandemic precautions, FIRE is excited to resume our in-person programming this year – and so we're excited to invite applications to attend our Faculty network conference! This year's conference will take place October 14-16 in downtown Chicago, with conference sessions at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center.
As in In recent years, this year's Faculty Network Conference will bring together a diverse group of educators from different institutions and academic fields for a weekend of presentations and discussions on core issues affecting academic freedom and faculty rights. (Our call for proposals ended on May 31, and we will notify those who submitted proposals of our decision in the next one to two weeks.)
In addition to these discussions, the faculty will benefit from the invaluable experience of meeting and networking with colleagues from across the country, united by a shared interest in defending academic freedom and fostering rigorous intellectual discourse.
As with our past conferences, faculty visitors are eligible for an allowance of up to $750 to help with travel and lodging expenses.
Faculties are encouraged to register as early as possible to attend our conference, before our limited number of places fills up! Applying early will maximize your chances of being accepted, although FIRE will also try to give special attention to teachers who have not attended our conferences before. More information can be found on the conference page, and interested teachers can email [email protected] with questions.
We look forward to seeing you in October, so apply today!
