Miller, a London-based independent specialist reinsurance broker, announced the appointment of: Erik Manning as head of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS).
Manning will begin his role in the third quarter, subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration. He will report in Charlie Simpson, chief of Bermuda.
Manning, who has significant industry experience, will focus on developing the best ILS and other insurance risk-to-capital solutions for the benefit of Miller's customers. His appointment builds on Simpson's hiring as head of Bermuda earlier this year as the company continues to focus on reinsurance expansion.
Manning has over 20 years of industry experience and comes from Peak Capital where he was CEO. Prior to that, he was a managing director at Aon Bermuda and also held senior positions at Markel Re and Guy Carpenter. Erik has a Ph.D. from the University of London.
Manning is joined in Bermuda by Sebastian Alexander, who is moving from Miller's London office, and Francesca Cacace. Alexander has extensive market and customer relationships and has experience in the ILS arena, Industrial Loss Guarantee (ILW) placement as well as in the traditional markets in London, Europe and North America. Cacace will support Miller's Bermuda team, bringing her diverse experience and local Bermuda knowledge.
Lockton Re, the global reinsurance business of the world's largest privately held independent insurance broker, announced that: Ollie Jones will join Lockton Re in London later this year as a broker in the Marine & Energy Division.
Jones joins from Guy Carpenter, where he most recently served as vice president in the Global Marine & Energy practice. Before that, he was a Broker at JLT Re, where he started his career.
McGill and Partners announced that warren Mula joined the London-based broker as a non-executive director of McGill Global Risk Solutions LLC and strategic advisor to McGill and Partners.
McGill and Partners has grown significantly in its first two years of operation, and Mula's role will be to support this growth with a particular focus on the specialty broker's US plans, including talent, clients, markets and intermediate partners.
Mula joins McGill and Partners after 40 years of service at Aon, most recently as president of Aon Risk Solutions. This included responsibility for all of Aon's Global Specialty business strategies and for global carrier relationships. This position was fulfilled in addition to his ongoing responsibilities as Global CEO of Aon Broking.
Mula's previous experience has also included a variety of senior management and leadership positions, including chairman of Aon Risk Services Companies Inc., managing director of the US Northeast region, national US head of the Strategic Account Management Group, and managing director of Baltimore /Washington DC offices.
